Our history

MCH Strategic Data was founded in 1928 by Forrest E. Long, a noted education professor, author and innovator. While at NYU, Dr. Long became editor and publisher of Junior High Clearing House, an educational journal for secondary schools. Its distribution channels soon evolved into the first commercial school mailing list, becoming the forerunner of today’s educational data industry.

Tracey Cochran lets her Midwestern values of honesty and integrity shine through in her work at MCH. Having been with the company for eight years, Tracey focuses on consultative selling and client reach. Tracey enjoys spending her free time watching her sons compete on the soccer field and watching Kansas City Chiefs football.

Brenda Viets

Director of Research

Brenda Viets is a family-oriented woman, and she brings that spirit to work. As MCH’s research guru, Brenda oversees all data collection. She has been with MCH for nearly 30 years, with roles in almost all departments. Brenda studied business and medical terminology while attending State Fair Community College and the University of Central Missouri. These days she spends as much time as possible with her husband and two daughters.

Peter Long

CEO

Let's Connect

Peter Long is a passionate innovator and life-long learner who is always striving to become a better leader. He has been recognized for his dedication by the Young Presidents Organization (Best of the Best education year), as Direct Marketer of the Year by the Kansas City Direct Marketing Association, the YEO National Finalist Judge for Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award, alongside numerous other honors. He has led MCH Strategic Data since 1993.

At the University of Vermont, Peter pursued a degree in business administration along with a minor in computer science. He spent 10 years in management consulting with Coopers and Lybrand (now PWC). Peter has been a member of numerous nonprofit Boards, including Kansas City YPO Gold President, Kansas City Youth Ambassadors, Kansas City Youth Hockey Association, Kansas City Eye Foundation and the Freedom Writers Foundation. Outside work hours, Peter is a passionate skier, photographer and traveler, and works to help at-risk youth.

Amy Rambo is always looking to find the success amid challenges and has done just that in her years with MCH. Prior to being president of the company, she was the director of IT and Data Services, and later the VP of Operations. Amy received her degree from Missouri State University after studying computer information systems. Outside work, Amy loves to ride her horses, watch her children compete in sports and spend time with her family and friends.
