New census figures show changes in education
funding
|
| |
Based on new census
figures, overall education spending grew in 2009 despite the economic downturn, but it was at the
slowest pace in a decade.
The New York Times
reported that the change was due to state fiscal woes and flatter tax revenues.
“I think they are responding to
economic and political realities,” said Robert N. Lowry Jr., deputy director of the New York State
Council of School Superintendents, according to
The New York Times. “There’s been this recognition that times are different.”
During the 2009 fiscal year, public
school districts in elementary and secondary education spent an average of $10,499 per student.
This was an increase of 2.3 percent from 2008.

pen, notepad, or coffee mug with a company logo on it? More than likely, you see the name and logo
of an institution promoting their product or service. Incentives and promotional items are
excellent for the institutional market, because nearly every institution wants to put their name on
something and build their brand awareness.
Hospitals are a great target for these
