The edWeb, a new professional/social network for the education community, has just announced a program to invite companies that market to schools to participate in the edWeb.
Thanks to a partnership with MCH, the edWeb is growing rapidly by inviting K-12 educators across the country to join the site. edWeb members include teachers in all subject areas and grades. More than 20% of edWeb members are school/district leaders. The edWeb makes it easy for educators to create professional learning communities and to move forward faster with any initiative.
Now, companies that sell to schools can join the edWeb and sponsor communities to discuss issues in education, provide ongoing professional development, and receive valuable feed back for product development and marketing.
Companies who take advantage of this new program can use their communities as part of an innovative new lead generation program and can “recommend” their communities to edWeb members. The edWeb has a proprietary system that lets companies run their own advertising on their edWeb community pages.
Lisa Schmucki, founder and CEO of the edWeb, says, “We talk about closing all kinds of gaps in education. Historically, there have been many barriers separating the creators of educational products and services and the users of those services (teachers). Part of the edWeb's mission is to close that gap. We’re delighted that our new corporate sponsorship program uses technology to make that possible.”
