Retirement Home Programs & Services

Alzheimer’s/Dementia Care
Provides services specifically to improve the well-being and raise the quality of life for patients suffering from Alzheimer’s.

Assisted Living Program
Provides qualified care and supervision from nurses and aides, help with medications, companionship with peers, planned activities, and meals.

Congregate Care Services
A variety of facilities, services, and people under one roof or community that provide options that otherwise would not be available in total independent living. These may include: dining facilities, healthcare programs, pharmacy, convenience store, barber/beauty shop, branch bank, library, housekeeping, maintenance, transportation, leisure programs, and security.

Continuing Care Services
Facilities or communities providing a full range of housing and services from independent living units to congregate living, assisted living, personal care and intermediate or skilled nursing services either on-site or provided through contractual arrangement in a nearby facility. Usually all services and facilities are provided on a site with the sponsoring organization, or owner, guaranteeing living accommodations and healthcare services for life with a portion of the healthcare services possibly having been prepaid.

Freestanding Assisted Living Facility
An assisted living facility located on the same campus as a nursing or retirement home, but housed in a separate building.

Independent Living Unit
Services for individuals not dependent on family or friends for day-to-day living needs. Retirees may extend this status when living in a full-service retirement community with a continuum of care to include individual homes, apartments, assisted living units, and long-term skilled healthcare.

Mentally Challenged Services
Provides early intervention services, respite care, community recreation, vocational and adult activity centers, and supervised apartments for mentally challenged adults.

Physical Therapy Services
Offers services such as rehabilitation, pain relief, injury prevention, and education. The goal is to restore a patient to maximal function following a disabling injury or disease.

Rehabilitation Services
Offers programs of physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Usually, retirement homes contract for these types of services.
