MCH is pleased to announce its partnership with edWeb, a free networking and collaboration
website for educators that:
- helps educators share resources and collaborate with colleagues anytime, anywhere
- allows teachers and administrators to share best practices and information on what's working
- enables schools and districts to work collaboratively to implement new programs and school
reforms and
- helps educators develop 21st century skills and introduces the benefits of social
networking.
The edWeb addresses the need expressed by many leaders and policy groups for online learning
communities that can provide sustainable professional development opportunities for teachers. The
edWeb is open to educators at all levels and in all types of educational settings, but the initial
focus is on growing the K-12 market where the need for collaboration and educational reform is
greatest.
Peter Long, MCH CEO, said “Social networking is becoming an integral part of personal and
professional communications. We believe the edWeb will be an important vehicle to help education
professionals connect and support each other as we implement the changes needed to improve
education in the U. S. MCH wanted to be in on this from the ground level.”
The edWeb and MCH are working together to invite educators across the country to join the
edWeb using MCH’s new Channel_e email service for the K-12 market. Invitations are going to school
and district leaders who can use the edWeb to build online communities within their
schools/districts and also to teachers in all curriculum areas and at all K-12 grade levels.
Lisa Schmucki, founder of the edWeb, said, “I am delighted to be working with MCH to grow the
edWeb. Our mission is to create an online community where all the constituents in education…
individual educators, schools, colleges, associations, and education companies… can come together
to drive change and improvement in education."
