MCH founder Dr. Forrest E. Long was a noted educator, author, administrator, and innovator. While he was a Professor of Education at New York University, he became the editor and publisher of The Clearing House, an educational journal for secondary schools. Distribution of the publication evolved into the first commercial school mailing list and became the forerunner of today’s educational mailing list industry. The company soon extended its compilation efforts beyond education into other institutional markets including healthcare, government and religion.
Today, the founder’s grandson,
Peter Long, leads MCH. Peter, and
President
John Hood, work hard to ensure that
MCH builds on the tradition of excellence and innovation established by Dr. Long in 1928. The
company has evolved from a mail shop into the leading compiler of business-to-institution (B2i)
data. Contributing to its 80 years of success are three generations of Midwest work ethic,
commitment to quality, and dedication to customer service.
